We know recent events and some of our recent actions have contributed to concerns felt by many.
The Met will be deploying close to 1,000 officers to police several different events taking place across London on Saturday 13 April.
The arrests were made during a protest in Kentish Town on Tuesday, 9 April
The majority of protests and demonstrations have now drawn to a close - there have been five arrests.
The Met is prepared for another busy weekend in the Capital with a robust policing plan in place for a number of events.
Met officers have applied recently introduced “tragedy chanting” legislation to convict two Millwall football fans who made deeply offensive gestures during a match against Leicester City earlier this year.
There will be a substantial police presence in the West End to ensure the event takes place safely and that disruption to others is kept to a minimum
We believe this group was ready to carry out a disruptive and damaging stunt which could have had serious implications had it been carried out successfully.
The Met supports the right for people to make their voices heard through protest providing it is done lawfully. However, the law also protects people from racist and religious abuse and prohibits the promotion of terrorism.
