Appeal after explosion in Dagenham on Sunday morning

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an explosion in Dagenham.

The incident happened at approximately 03:35hrs on Sunday, 2 July outside an address in Oglethorpe Road.

Two males riding a silver-coloured moped entered the road. The pillion passenger got off the moped and walked towards an address before returning to the bike and riding off. As they made off, an explosion occurred outside the address the male had just approached.

There were no injuries as a result of the explosion.

The incident was subsequently reported to police at around 07:30hrs that morning.

Officers from the Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact them on 020 7230 9737. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

This incident is not terrorism-related.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
