Appeal after man stabbed during robbery

Detectives are investigating after a man was stabbed in Hackney. The incident happened at around 19:10hrs on Tuesday, 25 August.

Two men had driven to Athlone Close, E5 where they had arranged to buy car through an intermediary. At the location, they met a group of men and two of these men got in the back seat of their car.

An altercation then took place and their car was stolen.

One of the original occupants was uninjured, but the other was stabbed in the leg.

Their car, a white Range Rover, was driven off from the scene by the suspects.

The injured victim, a man in his mid-20s, was treated in hospital and has since been discharged.

Police are keen to trace the stolen Range Rover, which is likely to have distinctive damage.

There have been no arrests.
