Appeal following collision in Havering

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses and information after a fail-to-stop collision left a woman seriously injured.

Police were called at 17:11hrs on Sunday, 9 December to North Road in Havering-Atte-Bower, Romford, following reports of a road traffic collision.

A female pedestrian, aged in her late 60s, was reported to have been struck by a white car which failed to stop at the scene. It made off, turning left into Orange Tree Hill, then onto Broxhill Road.

The victim was taken to an east London hospital. Her injuries are said to be serious. Her next of kin have been informed.

At this stage, there has been no arrest.

The Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command is investigating. Enquiries continue.
