Appeal following fatal collision in west London

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 06:29hrs on Sunday, 8 December to Hofland Road, at the junction with Sinclair Road, W14, to a report of man having been involved in a road traffic collision.

Police, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.

A 17-year-old moped rider was found to have come off his vehicle. He was taken to a central London hospital where he died of his injuries. 

Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. 

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating.

They would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision, or the moments leading up to it, or who captured it on dash cam.

The 31-year-old driver of another vehicle, thought to have been involved, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving and causing death by careless driving.

He has been interviewed and bailed to return to a south London police station in early January 2020.
