Appeal following fatal shooting in Southwark

Detectives have launched a murder investigation following a shooting in Southwark.

Police were called at approximately 18:05hrs on Saturday, 5 May to reports of gunshots heard on Cooks Road.

Officers, including firearms officers, attended.

A 17-year-old boy was found nearby on Warham Street suffering from a gunshot injury.

The London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance provided first aid at the scene. He was pronounced dead at 18:56hrs.

Next of kin have been informed. Formal identification is yet to take place.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

They would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Aberfeldy House at the time of the shooting.
