Police are appealing for information following an assault in which a man was knocked unconscious in Bromley. Two images of men wanted for questioning have been released today, Friday, 14 September.

At around 00:30hrs on Saturday, 7 July, the victim, a 22-year-old man, had been drinking with friends in the Sovereign of the Seas pub in Queensway, Petts Wood.

The group went outside to get some food from an adjacent restaurant.

Two men approached one of the victim's female friends and began talking to her.

The victim approached the men and asked them to leave her alone when one of them then punched him in the face.

The man fell to the ground unconscious and both suspects made off.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts and bruises had to have metal plates inserted into his jaw.

Officers are releasing CCTV images of two men who they would like to speak in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Dean Roberts, of Bromley CID, is leading the investigation. He said: "This was a nasty and unnecessary assault on a man who was simply trying to take care of a friend.

"Anyone who recognises these men is asked to contact us as soon as possible."
