Appeal following serious collision in Croydon

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was left in a critical condition following a road traffic collision in Croydon in which the vehicle concerned failed to stop.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 19:17hrs on Wednesday, 16 January to Whitehorse Road in Croydon, following reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

Officers attended along with London's Air Ambulance and discovered a man aged in his 30s.

He was taken to a south London hospital, where he currently remains in a critical condition.

The vehicle involved, believed to be a dark coloured Mercedes [model as yet unknown], did not stop at the scene. There have been no arrests.
