UPDATE: Appeal following fatal collision in Greenford

Detectives from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command are renewing appeals for witnesses following the death of a man who was involved in a collision in Greenford.

Police were called shortly after 16:05hrs on Saturday, 27 May to reports of a white Volkswagen van in collision with a pedestrian on Whitton Avenue East.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended. The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, was taken to a north London hospital where he died in the early hours of Monday, 29 May. His next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

The driver of the van stopped at the scene.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) based at Alperton Traffic Garage are investigating.

Enquiries continue into the full circumstances of the collision. There have been no arrests.
