Appeal following stabbing in Barnet

Police are appealing for witnesses following a stabbing in Barnet.

On Tuesday, 10 October, at approximately 21:30hrs police were called to reports of an incident on Gallants Farm Road, junction with Burlington Rise.

An 18-year-old man on a moped became involved in a dispute with the occupants of a nearby car.

The car allegedly drove into the moped, knocking the driver off. Between four or five occupants of the car, described as a dark blue vehicle, then reportedly exited the vehicle and attacked the man with knives.

One of the occupants from the car is described as black man, with an afro-style haircut and shavings in his eyebrow.

The victim received several stab injuries to the upper back and groin area. He was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been released.

DC Gemma Mariner of Barnet CID said: "We are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, who may have witnessed it taking place, to come forward and speak to police.

"A man was seriously injured during this incident and we would like to hear from anyone who may have any information."
