Appeal following suspected serious sexual assault in Wembley

Detectives appealing for information following a suspected serious sexual assault, have released images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with the investigation.

The incident took place at 00:38hrs on Sunday, 10 September on the canal tow path off the Grand Union Canal, Ealing Road, Wembley.

A witness was alerted after hearing a women’s cry for help on the tow path.

When the witness went to see what was happening they found the victim, a woman in her 50’s, in the bushes and partially unclothed.

Two men ran from the scene as the witness approached and detectives are trying to trace these two men.

Prior to the incident occurring the woman had been walking alone and it is believed she was forced into the bushes and sexually assaulted.

Detectives from the Met's Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command are investigating.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
