Appeal following teen robbed in Dagenham

Police in Dagenham are appealing for information following the robbery of a teenage boy.
Officers were called at approximately 18:12hrs on Saturday, 23 June.The victim, a 14-year-old boy, was walking along Gorse Way when he was approached by a group of males who threatened him with a knife before taking his phone.
When the victim called for help, the suspects gave the phone back and he [the victim] saw his chance to run away.
The group gave chase on foot but the victim was helped by a member of the public who took him by car to a safe place.
The suspect carrying the knife is described as a black male, approximately 16-years-old, wearing black clothing and a bandana headband.
Detective Superintendent Neil Matthews, from the East Area Command Unit, said: “This was a violent and brazen attack on a young boy.
“Thankfully a brave member of the public saw the victim running away and took him to safety.
