Appeal for information as victim named following fatal collision in Dagenham

Detectives investigating a collision in which a motorcyclist died are appealing for witnesses to the incident.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 17:24hrs on Monday, 1 April to reports a motorcyclist had mounted the kerb and collided with a tree on New Road in Dagenham.

Vinny Mitchell, aged 31, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Detective Constable Harry Nunez, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are working to establish the cause of this incident and we are keen to hear from anyone who may witnessed the collision, has dashcam footage, or saw the motorbike in the seconds before it crashed.

“This happened at a busy time of day and any information, no matter how small, could assist us in moving forward with this investigation.”
