Appeal for information following fatal collision in Southall

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Southall.

Police were called at approximately 14:31hrs today Wednesday, 30 May to reports of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian on High Street, at the junction with Avenue Road, Southall.

Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.

The pedestrian - an 86-year-old woman - was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed. Formal identification awaits.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Temporary road closures are in place on High Street, between Uxbridge Road and Southall Broadway. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Officers from the SCIU are investigating.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
