Appeal for witnesses after fatal collision in Sutton

Officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a fatal collision in Sutton.

Police were called to Westmead Road, Sutton, just after 2000hrs on Thursday, 6 December to reports of a road traffic collision involving a white van, a motorcycle and some parked vehicles.

A 20- year- old male, the rider of the motorcycle, died at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed.

A 45-year-old male, the driver of the van, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and causing death by careless driving.

Officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit [SCIU] are investigating.
