Appeal for witnesses to collision in Waltham Forest

Detectives investigating a serious collision in Waltham Forest are appealing for witnesses. 

Police were called to Lea Bridge Road, E10, at approximately 22:00hrs on Thursday, 16 May to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service.

The 81-year-old pedestrian was treated at the scene for a number of injuries before being taken to hospital. He remains in a critical condition.

The driver did not stop at the scene and an investigation is underway to trace the vehicle and the driver. 

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage.
