Appeal for witnesses to serious collision

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Tower Hamlets.

Police were called just after 01:00hrs on Thursday, 12 October to a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian on Whitechapel Road, near the Royal London Hospital.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended.

A woman, aged in her 30s, who was a pillion passenger on the motorbike, was taken to a east London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Next of kin have not been informed.

The rider of the motorcycle stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The motorcyclist and a pedestrian were also injured in the collision; neither injury is described as life-threatening.
