Appeal for witnesses to Shoreditch stabbing

Police in Hackney have released CCTV footage of three men they wish to speak with in connection with a violent attack in Shoreditch.

Police were called shortly after 01:15hrs on Sunday, 16 July to reports of a stabbing on Rivington Street, EC2. 

Officers attended and found a 25-year-old man with a stab wound to his leg. He was taken to an east London hospital for treatment before being discharged.

Prior to being assaulted, the victim had been walking along Rivington Street when he became involved in a verbal altercation with one of the three men who later stabbed him in the leg.

The CCTV shows the three suspects walking towards Shoreditch High Street. Police are keen to hear from anyone who recognises any of the suspects or witnessed the attack.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigationand later released under investigation. If you witnessed the incident or have any information that can assist police, call Hackney CID on 07825793215.
