Appeal to trace BMW driver who failed to stop following collision with cyclist

Police are appealing for information and witnesses after a car failed to stop following a serious collision with a cyclist in Croydon.

Officers were called by the London Ambulance Service at 06:19hrs on Saturday, 23 June, to reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist on Whitehorse Road at the junction with Northbrook Road in Selhurst.

The 60-year-old cyclist was taken to a south London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Detectives have established that the collision occurred at 06:13hrs on 23 June. The car – which was a dark coloured BMW – did not stop at the scene.

Officers are appealing for the driver of the BMW to come forward. They are also asking any witnesses or anyone with information to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford on 020 8285 1574.

Enquiries continue. There has been no arrest at this stage.
