Arrests in investigation into fatal shooting of man in Brent

Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of Leon Maxwell, 38, in Queensbury last May have made seven arrests.

On Tuesday, 26 March, [A] An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has been released on bail until mid-April

On Wednesday, 27 March, six people were arrested after a series of warrants were carried out in North West London.

[B] A 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

[C] A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

[D] A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and possession with intent to supply cannabis, a class B drug.

[E] A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and possession with intent to supply cannabis, a class B drug.

[F] A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He was also wanted for being concerned in the supply of cannabis.

[G] A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis, a class B drug.

The six people arrested on Wednesday, 27 March were taken to north London Police stations where they remain in custody at this time.

++ Police were called at 21:02hrs on Tuesday, 1 May 2019 to reports of a shooting at Cumberland Road, near Queensbury tube station.

Armed police and London Ambulance Service (LAS) attended the scene and found Leon Maxwell, 38, suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene at 21:58hrs.

A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was a gunshot wound.

The murder investigation is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
