Officers investigating an alleged assault outside of the Savoy hotel in December 2018 are appealing for the victim to come forward.
Police were called at around 21:00hrs on Sunday, 30 December to the hotel on the Strand following reports of a man being assaulted.
All parties were spoken to. The victim, a man, did not wish to make any allegations and declined medical treatment before leaving the area.
CCTV footage later appeared on social media and enquiries into the incident were re-opened.
Officers are now releasing an image of the man they believe to be the victim of the assault and are appealing for him, or anyone who can identify him, to come forward.
It is believed he is around 40-years-old and is pictured wearing a distinctive jacket and black hat at the time of the attack.
Following enquiries, a suspect has now been identified; it is believed he is no longer living in the UK.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Sergeant Robert Harris, from the Met’s Central West Command Unit, said: “At the time of the incident the man assaulted did not wish to pursue any allegations and declined any further assistance from emergency services.
“In order to progress our investigation, we need to speak to this man as soon as possible.”
