Edmonton murder victim named as detectives continue to appeal for information and witnesses

Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in Edmonton have named the victim as 20-year-old Ishak Tacine of Enfield.

A 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of murder and violent disorder has since been released under investigation.

The murder investigation continues after Ishak was fatally stabbed at Cavendish Road, Edmonton.

Police were called at 1833hrs on Wednesday, 27 June to reports of an altercation between males armed with baseball bats.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended.

At the scene officers found Ishak suffering stab injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 1920hrs.

His next-of-kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to investigate.

A crime scene is in place with additional scenes at Brettenham Road and Cameron Close.

At this early stage officers retain an open mind as to motive.

Extra police will be on patrol in and around the area speaking to locals and working in partnership with the local community.

Detective Inspector Paul Considine, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is another tragic loss of young life and I am urgently appealing to anyone with information to get in touch.

“We believe there were a number of other young men involved in the altercation which sadly led to this man’s death. Those responsible must be caught and brought to justice.

“Any information passed to police will be treated with the strictest confidence.”
