Fatal collision in Islington

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision in Islington.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) at around 19:10hrs on Wednesday, 23 January, to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Parkhurst Road near the junction with Holloway Road, N7.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. The injured pedestrian – a man, believed to be aged in his 30s or 40s - was pronounced dead at the scene at 19:45hrs.

Urgent enquiries are underway to establish the man’s identity. His next of kin have not been informed.

The car stopped at the scene and the driver is assisting police with their enquiries. There has been no arrest.
