An investigation is underway following a fatal collision in Walthamstow.
A woman has died following a collision with a police car responding to an emergency call.
At around 23:45hrs on Tuesday, 22 January, the marked police car was in collision with the female pedestrian in Forest Road, E17.
The police car stopped at the scene and the officer administered first aid prior to the arrival of London Ambulance Service and paramedics from London's Air Ambulance.Sadly, the woman, who is believed to be in her late 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are underway to trace her next of kin, who are believed to be outside the UK, but a close friend has been informed.
The police car had been responding to an emergency call to a man threatening members of the public at a location in Walthamstow.
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct have launched an independent investigation.
