Image appeal of man wanted for questioning after Ilford assault

The man police seek to identify

Detectives have released an image of a man they wish to identify in connection with a violent assault in Ilford.

The offence took place at around 20:05hrs on Saturday, 4 November when a 53-year-old male was assaulted outside the General Havelock public house, High Road, Ilford.

During the assault the victim sustained severe facial injuries as a result of the attack and will require corrective surgery in the future.

The suspect punched and kicked the victim in the face, resulting in him falling unconscious to the floor.

Police are appealing for information which could help identify the outstanding suspect [B] in connection to this incident. He is described as a white male, aged between 25 and 35 years-old. He was wearing a grey top with dark-coloured jeans and black trainers.

A second male, [A] aged 52, was arrested on Monday 29 January and was charged with actual bodily harm on Wednesday, 28 February in connection with this incident.

He entered a plea of not guilty at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 29 March. He next appears at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Wednesday, 25 April.
