A man who was arrested on Friday, 13 April on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts remains in police custody.
The arrest was made following a proactive operation by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command (CTC).
The 27-year-old man was arrested in east London on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of a terrorist act. He was detained under the Terrorism Act (TACT).
On Saturday, 14 April, Westminster Magistrates’ Court authorised a warrant of further detention until Friday, 20 April and the man remains in police custody at this time.
As part of the same investigation, a 24-year-old woman was arrested at an address in north London on suspicion of having information about acts of terrorism.
She was detained under PACE and taken to a south London police station where she was subsequently released on police bail until early May pending further enquiries.
As part of the operation, officers carried out searches at four addresses – one in north London and three in east London. All searches are now complete.
