Man arrested on suspicion of terror offences released without charge

A man arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences as part of an investigation by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command has been released without charge.

The 20-year-old man was arrested at an address in west London on 5 March under section 41 (1) of the Terrorism Act 2000 and was taken to a south London police station.

An application was made on 6 March at Westminster Magistrates' Court and a warrant of further detention was granted until 12 March.

Officers also carried out a search at the address in West London.

After making further enquiries the 20-year-old man was released without charge on Monday 11 March.

+ This arrest was not connected to the investigation into suspicious packages received at three buildings in London on 5 March.
