Man bailed following terror arrest in south London

A man arrested on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism has been released on police bail.

On Wednesday, 28 November, officers from the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command arrested an 18-year-old man at an address in south London on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism, contrary to section 2 of the Terrorism Act, 2006.

He was detained under PACE and taken to a south London police station.

He was bailed on Thursday, 29 November to return to a police station in late December.

Officers are searching two addresses in south and south east London in connection with the investigation.
