Man pleads guilty to attempted murder after brutal assault on friend

A man has pleaded guilty in court after a brutal attack on his friend in Streatham left him with life-changing injuries.

Mohammed Fadla, 38 (30.07.1984), of no fixed abode, has pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted murder at the Old Bailey following an attack on the 23 July, 2018.

The victim miraculously managed to survive the battering, suffering multiple cuts on his head and nearly losing an ear.

Fadla attacked his friend in his flat on Streatham Vale, Streatham, relentlessly hitting him over the head with an axe while he laid in bed. He has no recollection of the incident, claiming that he suffers with multiple mental health issues.

The victim’s roommate was in attendance as the attack happened, witnessing Fadla mercilessly beat him with the weapon. As soon as he realised what was happening, he ran from the scene and flagged someone down to call the police.

Fadla also fled the scene immediately, driving away in the van that he was living in and subsequently asking a passer-by to phone the police and turn himself in.

He is now due to be sentenced on 9 August, 2019.
