Misconduct hearing outcome

News   •   Jul 06, 2020 09:03 BST

A misconduct hearing has concluded that a former officer would have been dismissed without notice.

Former PC Stuart Lesser, who was attached to the North West Command Unit, was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of:

- Honesty & Integrity;
- Authority, Respect and Courtesy;
- Discreditable Conduct.

It was alleged that on 22 October 2018, while on duty, former PC Lesser caused damage to a police vehicle by reversing into a post and chose to conceal how the damage had been caused.

It was further alleged that he behaved in an aggressive, discourteous and threatening way towards a junior colleague with regard to the incident.

The hearing, which concluded on Friday, 3 July, found that had former PC Lesser still been a serving officer he would have been dismissed without notice.

He resigned from the MPS on 7 March 2020.
