Murder investigation launched in Romford

A murder investigation has been launched following a fatal stabbing in Romford.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) just before 22:40hrs on Tuesday, 11 July to a report of a stabbing at an address in a block of flats on Straight Road in Romford.

Officers attended along with the LAS and found a 28-year-old man suffering from stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 23:22hrs.

His next of kin have not yet been informed.

Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

The Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched an investigation, and are appealing for witnesses and information.
