A police officer has been dismissed from the Metropolitan Police Service following a one day special case hearing.

PC Lucas Beach based at East Area Command unit in Romford answered an allegation that his conduct amounted to a breach of the Met’s Standards of professional behaviour in respect of ‘discreditable conduct’.

PC Beach had on 29 June at Basildon Crown Court pleaded guilty to making indecent photographs of children, possessing prohibited images of children and possessing extreme pornographic films following an investigation by Essex Police.

On 27 July he was sentenced to a rehabilitation activity requirement, participation in an internet sex offenders programme and handed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order for five years.

The chair found the allegation proven and the officer was dismissed without notice on Friday, 1 December.
