Officer issued final written warning after misconduct proven

A misconduct hearing for a police officer attached to Learning and Development has concluded.

The hearing, which concluded on Wednesday, 6 November, found that the actions of PC Kate Fletcher breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of Authority, Respect & Courtesy, Duties & Responsibilities and Discreditable Conduct at the level of Gross Misconduct.

Between March 2015 and August 2016 whilst on duty PC Fletcher:

- Bullied probationary officers by speaking to them in a rude and demeaning manner.

- Put up a poster of a colleague which contained derogatory and offensive language.

- Sent emails from colleagues email accounts in breach of MPS protocol,

- Sent emails to colleagues using inappropriate language.

The decision of sanction by the Chair and Panel was that PC Fletcher received a final written warning.
