Police appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Wandsworth

Officers were called at 11.55hrs on Friday, 6 October, to Buckhold Road at the junction with Wandsworth High Street to reports of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

The elderly pedestrian, aged in her 70s, suffered leg and head injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:26hrs.

Her next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and is assisting officers.

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

A/DS Alistair Middleton from the Met's Road and Transport Policing Command said: "We are looking into the circumstances of this collision which sadly resulted in an elderly woman losing her life.

"Anyone who was in the area at the time who might have seen the collision is urged to come forward with their information and speak to police."
