Police appeal for witnesses to fail to stop collision in Croydon

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses and information after a driver struck a pedestrian and failed to stop at the scene.

Police were called to Whitehorse Lane, j/w Park Road, Croydon at 1805hrs on Sunday, 12 November to reports of a road traffic collision.

At the scene a car [no further details at this time] had been in collision with a 77-year-old male pedestrian.

The injured male was taken to a central London hospital where his condition is currently critical. His family has been notified.

The vehicle involved failed to stop at the scene.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Catford are investigating.

There have been no arrests at this time. Enquiries are underway to trace the driver and the vehicle involved.
