Renewed appeal following the death of a man injured in Islington collision

Detectives from the Met's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating a road traffic collision in which a cyclist was fatally injured in Islington.


Police were called at around 00:20hrs on Friday, 6 July to reports of a car in collision with a cyclist on Goswell Road at the junction with Percival Street, EC1.

The cyclist, a 38-year-old man, was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a north London hospital in a critical condition.

He died on Wednesday, 11 July.

Next of kin are aware.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene; he was not arrested.

Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Alperton on 020 8991 9555 and quote CAD 97/6Jul. Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the collision take place or has moving footage.
