Three men arrested by detectives investigating the Parsons Green terrorist attack have been released with no further action this afternoon, Tuesday, 26 September.
The men released today are:
A 25-year-old man [C] who was arrested in Newport on Tuesday, 19 September.
A 30-year-old man [E] who was arrested in Newport, Wales, on Wednesday, 20 September.
A 20-year old man [G] who was arrested in Cardiff on Monday, 25 September.
To date, seven people have been arrested as part of the investigation being carried out by the Met's Counter Terrorism Command.
One person [A] has been charged and the other six [B,C,D,E,F,G] released with no further action.
Searches are continuing at one address in Cardiff as the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command continues to investigate the terrorist attack on Friday, 15 September. The search in Surrey has been completed and work is currently under way to return the scene to normal.
[A] Ahmed Hassan, 18, of Sunbury, Surrey, was charged with the following offences:
- On 15 September 2017 within the jurisdiction of the Central Criminal Court attempted to murder persons travelling on a District Line Train from Wimbledon, contrary to section 1(1) Criminal Attempts Act 1981
- On 15 September 2017 within the jurisdiction of the Central Criminal Court maliciously caused by triacetone triperoxide (TATP) or other explosive substance and explosion of a nature likely to endanger life or to cause serious injury to property, contrary to section 2 Explosive Substances Act 1883.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday, 22 September, where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, 13 October. He was arrested in Dover, Kent, at around 07:50hrs on Saturday, 16 September.
