Teenaged boy charged with the murder of McCaulay Urugbezi-Edwards

Detectives investigating the death of McCaulay Urugbezi-Edwards have charged a teenager with his murder.

A 17-year-old male [A] was charged with murder at Lewisham police station on Wednesday, 10, July. He has been remanded in custody, to appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on Thursday, 11 July.

Police attended Tiverton Street, SE1 on Sunday, 5 May at around 21:30hrs following reports that London Ambulance Service were dealing with a stabbing at the location.

Officers attended along with London’s Air Ambulance and found McCaulay Junior Urugbezi-Edwards, 18, suffering from stab injuries.

He was taken to a south London hospital where he sadly died at 22:51hrs.

Next-of-kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination took place at Greenwich Mortuary on Wednesday, 8 May and gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the left thigh.
