Three serving Metropolitan Police Service officers charged with perverting the course of justice have been acquitted following a trial at Southwark Crown Court.

PCs Max Michel, Shaun Charnock and Ryan Francis, attached to the West Area Command Unit, were acquitted on Friday, 10 May.

The charge related to an incident on 4 December 2016 where a marked police vehicle collided with a member of the public’s vehicle on Hounslow Road, Feltham.

Now that the criminal case has concluded, misconduct proceedings can take place.

The three officers remain on restricted duties; this will now be subject to review.
