​ Two bailed for terrorism offences

Two people have been arrested as part of an investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.

On Friday 9 November, officers arrested a 57-year-old man [A] and a 20-year-old woman [B] at an address in north London.

The man [A] was arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act (TACT) 2006. The woman [B] was arrested on suspicion of possessing money or property for the purposes of terrorism contrary to section 16 TACT, 2000.

Both were detained under PACE and taken to a south London police station before being subsequently released on police bail until a date in early December.

Officers also carried out searches at the address in north London and at an address in Luton. All searches are now complete.
