Two arrests made in Plaistow murder investigation

Detectives investigating the murder of 18-year-old Santino Angelo Dymiter in Plaistow have made two arrests.

A 16-year-old male [B] has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 24-year-old man [C] has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both remain in custody at an east London police station.

An investigation was launched after police were called at approximately 15:30hrs on Monday, 26 August, to reports of a critically injured man on Chadd Green, E13.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found Santino suffering from stab injuries; he was pronounced dead at the scene at 16:33hrs.

A post-mortem examination held on Wednesday, 28 August at East Ham Mortuary confirmed cause of death as a stab wound.

Formal identification has taken place.

Homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are investigating.

[A] A 14-year-old boy from Barking was arrested on Thursday, 5 September. He was charged the following day with the murder of Santino Angelo Dymiter at Chadd Green E13 on Monday, 26 August.

He appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 7 September.
