Two men charged with drone offences committed during the New Year's Eve

Two men have been charged with drone offences committed during the New Year's Eve celebrations in Central London.

Viktor Vajda, 30 (13.01.89) of Malt House Place, Romford has been charged with being the remote pilot of a small unmanned surveillance aircraft, namely a drone, and flying it over or within 150 metres of a congested area other than in accordance with a permission issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, which is in breach of Article 95 of the Air Navigation Order 2016.

Vajda was charged on Wednesday, 6 March via postal charge requisition and will appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday, 27 March.

Qian Cui, 22 (08.12.96) of Great Suffolk Street, Southwark has been charged with being the remote pilot of a small unmanned surveillance aircraft, namely a drone, and flying it over or within 150 metres of a congested area other than in accordance with a permission issued by the Civil Aviation Authority, which is in breach of Article 95 of the Air Navigation Order 2016.

Cui was charged on Wednesday, 6 March via postal charge requisition and will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court on Friday, 29 March.

The arrests were as a result of separate drone incidents and are not connected.
