UPDATE: Man charged with Woolwich murder

Police investigating a fatal stabbing in Woolwich, south-east London have identified the victim.

He has been named as Leo Marcus, who was aged 22 and from Greenwich.

A man has been charged with Leo’s murder.

Shackim Taylor, 19 (02.05.00) of Gunyard Mews, SE18, was arrested on suspicion of murder on the evening of Sunday, 14 July.

In the early hours of Tuesday, 16 July, he was charged with murder, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was kept in custody to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court that same day.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, 18 July.

The charges relate to a call to police at 14:40hrs on Wednesday, 10 July, reporting a stabbing on Tellson Avenue, SE18. Leo was found at the scene suffering from a number of stab wounds.

A murder investigation was launched by detectives from the Specialist Crime Command.
