Victim named in Croydon murder

Police investigating a fatal stabbing in South Norwood on Monday, 5 March have named the victim as 20-year-old Kelva Smith.

Police were called at approximately 17:00hrs to reports of a man stabbed in Albert Road, SE25.

Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a Kelva suffering from stab injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination was held at Croydon University Hospital on Thursday, 8 March and gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the abdomen.

A 14-year-old boy [C] was charged on Saturday, 10 March with murder, possession of an offensive weapon (knife) and attempted wounding.

He appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court today, Monday, 12 March. He has been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 14 March.

A 19-year-old man [B] was charged on Wednesday, 7 March with murder and possession of an offensive weapon (knife).

He appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 8 March and was remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on 25 May.

A 15-year-old boy [A] has been bailed in connection with the offence.
