Violent Crime Taskforce arrest two and seize criminal property

Detectives from the Violent Crime Taskforce have arrested two men and seized a haul of suspected criminal property and cash following a stop and search in Waltham Forest.

On Tuesday, 10 July three men were stopped in Trumpington Road, traveling in a Mercedes hire car.

Following a vehicle stop all three were searched.

One man [A] aged 21 was arrested for possession of class A drugs.

A second man [B] aged 24 was arrested for possessing criminal property after £4,000 in cash was found concealed in his underwear.

Both men were taken to an east London police station where they remain for questioning.

A subsequent search of the home of the 24-year-old man [B] recovered designer goods from Louis Vuiton, Guicci, Prada and Christian Dior.

The suspected value of the items is believed to be around £50,000.

Inspector Peter Moxham, of the Violent Crime Task Force, said: "Task Force Proactive Teams are working across London to keep our communities safe.

"We will stop and search within the scope of the law using all means necessary. Seizing drugs, cash and criminal property from those suspected of being connected to violence."
