Appeal after motorcyclist deliberately driven at and injured in Redbridge

Police are appealing for witnesses and any road users with dashcam footage after a motorcyclist was injured after being struck by a car in Redbridge.

The incident happened at approximately 18:30hrs on Tuesday, 14 September on the southbound carriageway of the A406 North Circular at the Redbridge Roundabout.

A car, described as a silver Ford Fiesta, struck the motorcycle from behind before driving off. The motorcycle rider, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment; his condition is not life threatening.

PC Martin Bly from the Roads and Transport Policing Command said: “Our initial investigation suggests that the car was being driven erratically and then appeared to strike the motorcycle deliberately.

“I would ask anyone who was in the area and saw this incident, or recorded the events leading up to the collision on dashcam footage, to contact police immediately.”

No arrests; enquiries continue.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD6016/14Sep. Alternatively, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
