Appeal after violent robbery in Newham

Detectives investigating a violent robbery in Newham are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 22:15hrs on Friday, 29 October, the 22-year-old victim was attacked from behind by three males as he walked along St Georges Road, E7.

The suspects took £20 from the victim before knocking him to the floor and jointly attacking him.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to head and facial injuries and a broken leg. His treatment is ongoing.

Detective Constable Tiffany Africa of the Met’s North East Command said: “We know that there were a number of witnesses who filmed this extremely violent robbery and I would like to hear from anyone who was there, or has information concerning the identity of the suspects, who has not yet spoken to us.

“The suspects left the scene in a dark coloured car and I am also keen to see footage, or receive information, concerning that vehicle.

“This seemingly motiveless attack has resulted in a young man sustaining lasting injuries – if you have information please do the right thing and share what you know.”

Anyone with information or footage should call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting 8133/29NOV.
