Appeal following assault on board bus in Lambeth
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault on board a bus in Lambeth.
At about 13:30hrs on Sunday, 26 June, a 37-year-old man was assaulted whilst on board a Route 156 bus close to Wandsworth Road, SW8.
The victim and his girlfriend, who been travelling with their young children, told officers that a female suspect [Suspect 1] boarded the bus before attempting to get back off. As the bus pulled away, she began to scream and kicked the doors.
Her behaviour caused the children to become upset, and the victim asked her to calm down. At this point the suspect confronted the victim.
A man [Suspect 2] – who is believed to have been known to the woman – then punched the victim before the female suspect sprayed what is believed to be deodorant into the victim’s face.
Both suspects got off at the next stop.
The victim suffered minor facial injuries in the assault.
Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating, and have released CCTV images of two people they need to identify and speak with in connection with the assault.
