Appeal following Clapham shooting

Detectives from Trident Crime Command are appealing for information following a shooting in Clapham

Police were called at 21:31hrs on Tuesday, 4 June to Bedford Road at the junction with Fenwick Place, SW9, following reports of a firearms discharge.

Officers attended the scene, but there was no trace of any victims or suspects.

At 21:46hrs officers were alerted to a 24-year-old man who had presented at a south London hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim's injuries were declared not life-threatening.

Detectives have linked this injured person to the above reported shooting.

Officers are also trying to trace two witnesses who were handed two mobile telephones while in Landor Road, SW9 shortly after 21:30 hours.

It is believed one witness was female, the other, male [no further details].

Enquiries into the full circumstances continue.

A shell casing has been recovered.

At this stage there have been no arrests.
