Appeal following fatal collision in Hammersmith

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Hammersmith. 

Police were called at 00:20hrs on Sunday, 29 May to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a car on the Hammersmith Flyover.

Police, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance Service all attended.

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Despite the efforts of hospital staff, he died on Tuesday, 31 May.

His family is aware and he has been named as Benjamin Dewhurst.

The car stopped at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are investigating. They would like to speak with anyone who saw the collision or captured it on dash cam.
